tory burch rain boots

So I had this huge plan to walk to the Pike Place Market at lunch and grab some flowers and shrimp for dinner tonight BUT in true Seattle form it was raining.  I must say this is the first day since I moved here that it has been raining all day.  Good thing I am prepared with my trusty Tory Burch rain boots. Next purchase a cute raincoat. Happy Wednesday!

a little shimmer

So as I have entered the world of working from home I have realized that getting dressed up is really no longer a part of my daily routine. Until NOW! I have decided to keep my fashion spirit alive and put together outfits for when I do venture out. Since I have moved I have found so many fun pieces I forgot I had ... like this skirt.

Oh and I no longer have a live-in photographer so I am testing out the good old self timer. Cheers!

found treasures

I am sorry I haven't posted anything in awhile.  Not only did I move but I managed to catch pneumonia. All is better now but it took me out for a few days.  SO as I type this I am looking out my window in ... yes wait for it SUNNY Seattle.  I must have brought the sunshine with me from Cali.  Today 8 out of my 9 FedEx boxes arrived (I know I am kind of freaking out about that last box since I am unsure what was packed in it .... eek) so I can actually start wearing my clothes instead of borrowing t-shirts and comfy flannel pants from my boyfriend. As I was unloading my boxes I found the box that I packed my favorite shoes (yes I keep them in their original boxes).  My treasures have arrived.  Whew.  I actually kind of forgot about these but now that I have found them I will be wearing them out and about.  Again I miss working at Anthropologie since 4 out of the 5 were purchased back in my good old Anthro days.

Here's to Seattle!  May she welcome me with open arms. If not, she will at least see me as I am walking down the street in my sequin blazer and killer heels.

jasper hilburn: vintage & antique assemblage heirloom jewelry

You all know how much I love vintage jewelry. I was sent this link from the designer via facebook and DIED. I just feel in love with how unique and beautiful everything was.  I can't wait for my first purchase (after my move in two days).  Take a look and ENJOY!

Next time I post will be from Seattle!!!  Whooooooooya!

Jasper Hilburn was my great grandfather's name.
And what a great old name to represent what I create: unique designs constructed from the past.

Almost all of the pieces in this shop are handmade from treasures found everywhere from my grandmother's jewelry box and estate auctions, to flea markets and antique shops. I love the idea of taking old jewelry, or even unique old things that were never meant to be jewelry, and make something that someone would be proud to wear and talk about.

kentucky derby hats

Between the Royal Wedding and the Kentucky Derby I can't get over all the fun hats. Since I wasn't able to go to the Derby in person I did the next best thing and threw a party.  Of course we forgot to take photos.  Remind me again why I have a camera????  Anyway, congrats to Animal Kingdom.

My sister and I after her horse won.

happy mother's day

I have been trying to get photos of my mother from years past but it was kind of hard since all of our photos are in boxes in Minnesota. So I did the next best thing... I pulled fun photos of my amazing mother off of facebook.

Thanks for being such an amazing mom.  I love you and I blame you for my shopping addiction.  BUT I still love you!  Have a fantastic Mothers Day!  xoxo

And now add awesome Grandma to your list of accomplishments

packing = finding oldies

The one nice thing about packing (one week until Seattle) is that you see what you have in your closet.  Plus you find oldies but goodies.  I love this dress and was excited to pull it out of retirement. I have also realized that I am somewhat of a clothes hoarder. I have a hard time parting with clothes but thanks to my roommates they were able to convince me it was time to get rid of quite a few things.  I decided to add photos so you know what I am talking about.  BUT keep in mind I am not done packing up my clothes.  EEKS!

My donation pile as of Tuesday.

So ... I love clothes. Can you blame me?

ruby woo loves leopard

This week I was asked to be a guest blogger on a fabulous blog site called Ruby Woo Loves You.  I believe my post will be seen on May 8th. Don't worry I will let you know.  Anyhoo, since the brains behind Ruby Woo Loves You loves to wear leopard print, I am dedicating this post to her!  Oh and I am wearing red lipstick.

Cheers Tierney!
